How to apply for Driving Licence in Maharashtra online
Step by step.
- You need a Learner's Licence first. A driving licence is only given after you already hold a valid Learner's Licence. If you don't have one, do that first.
- Open the right website. Go to sarathi.parivahan.gov.in and select "Maharashtra" at the top.
- Start the application. Choose "Apply for Driving Licence" and fill the form using your Learner's Licence number. Upload your photo, signature and documents ("upload" means send a clear photo of each).
- Pay and book a test slot. Pay the fee online, then pick a date and time for your driving test at your RTO.
- Go for the test. On the day, take your own vehicle and original documents to the RTO and pass the driving test.Carry your Learner's Licence and all originals — without them you cannot sit the test.
- Get your licence. Once you pass, the DL is approved and posted to your home; you can also download the e-copy from the site.
