How to apply for PAN Card in Maharashtra online
Step by step.
- Check one thing first: is your mobile linked to Aadhaar? This whole process works by sending a secret number (OTP) to the phone joined to your Aadhaar. If it isn't linked, nothing here will work — sort that out first.
- Open the right page. Go to incometax.gov.in. On the first screen find the "Quick Links" box and click "Instant e-PAN". You do not need to log in or make an account.
- Start a new PAN. Click "Get New e-PAN", type your 12-digit Aadhaar number, tick the small confirmation box and press Continue.
- Type the secret number (OTP). A 6-digit number comes to your phone — type it in.It lasts only a few minutes; if it expires, just ask for a new one.
- Read your own details once. The screen shows your name, date of birth and address taken from Aadhaar. If anything is wrong here, it is wrong in your Aadhaar — fix that first. Otherwise accept and continue.
- Done — and it's free. You get an acknowledgement number. Write it down or take a screenshot. The PAN is usually ready within a few minutes to an hour.
- Download it. Go back to "Instant e-PAN" → "Check Status / Download e-PAN", enter your Aadhaar and the OTP, and download the PDF.To open the PDF, the password is your date of birth as 8 digits — day, month, year, e.g. 09081990.
